Pam Lazarakis has worked in Career Services since 1998. She is a Gordon alumna and majored in Biblical and Theological Studies and completed the secondary education requirements in social studies. Her more recent studies have been in leadership and business ethics and she has special interest in the following career topics: the theology of work, best practices for facilitating student and alumni connections for career advancement, and helping others find effective strategies for presenting their credentials and experiences to employers in cover letters, resumes and interviews. Not only does Pam enjoy helping students advance in their career development, she also enjoys the reflection of the autumn leaves in Coy Pond on a fall morning, or visiting Halibut Point Reservation in Rockport.
Rita Smith Dove, Associate Director
Rita Smith Dove’s educational background is in psychology and counseling and she has worked at Career Services since 1996 in a career counseling and programming role. She specifically focuses on personality preferences as they relate to career choice and fulfillment, and Christians in the workplace. Although originally from Chesapeake, VA, Rita loves the North Shore, and her favorite place to eat here is The Beverly Depot Restaurant at the Beverly train station.
Stacey Phelps, Internship Specialist
Stacey is a graduate of the University of Virginia’s M.Ed Counselor Education program, with a focus on Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education. She is originally from the Boston area, completed her undergraduate degree at St. Michael’s College in Vermont and has close to ten years of experience in industry both recruiting and in employer relations. Stacey has worked in career services for 6 years, developing and implementing student programs and providing comprehensive career counseling and development services to students and alumni. As Internship Specialist with Gordon College Career Services, Stacey’s primary focus is to prepare students for internships and expand the network of employer relations whereby Gordon students gain greater access to internship opportunities.
